Oldham County 5-year-old boy found safe hiding at grandmother's house
We are here. We got called around 12:20 this afternoon for *** missing 5 year old child. I'm going to start this off that the child was located about 6 minutes ago. So media briefing was at 3:45. We locate him about 3:40. So the community, we thank everyone for their assistance. As you can see, all the departments are going to be leaving behind me now. We had Uh, I'm sorry, Westport Fire, LaGrange Fire County EMS, Oldham County Police. We had Anchorage Middletown, we had LNPD, we had Oldham County, um, pretty much the community showed up to help. So we thank everyone for their assistance in helping, um, that. All I'm gonna say right now is he has been located safely. Is there any questions from anybody? Was it *** *** custodial, non-custodial parent or who, who, who were they with? Who were they supposed to be with? He, he was with Grandma. He lives with grandma and mom, and he was located safe. Was he located at Grandma's house? He was located inside the house, yes, in Grandma's house. Yes. How long had he been missing? He was it was reported at 12:20 to us. So it's been almost 2.5-3 hours now. What's the protocol for going through ***, what's the checklist on? When Oldham County Dispatch receives the missing person, they immediately notify Oldham County Emergency Management and they immediately notify Oldham County police or just the jurisdiction responsible. We're beginning to ask certain questions disabilities, descriptions, names, circumstances and on that we start calling people, we start formulating *** plan to see if this meets criteria for search and rescue, if it is *** custodial issue, if they've been taken by another person, things like that. So all in all we all come together, we form *** game plan, we meet in *** place like this, and we Formulate and map and everything out. Was he OK inside the house? Yes, yes. OK. Was there any um. Did he have any of the disabilities or um anything that I, I'm not gonna answer that one. It's, that's the family's business, OK. But, but if it was used to trigger the, the missing person, the missing person was triggered due to age, OK. And he was just hiding. Was he hiding? He was hiding in *** very, very good spot. We have searched that house and just for the record, we searched that house 4 or 5 times. We searched it up and down. He was in *** very good spot and this happens *** lot more than you would think this does happen.
