Where the Celebrity Big Brother winners are now - from tragic deaths to prison stints

Celebrity Big Brother is set to return to TV screens later this year, with a new batch of famous faces due to enter the iconic house - but where are the previous winners now?

A fresh series of Celebrity Big Brother is set to hit our TV screens on Monday, 7th April, with a host of well-known faces expected to step into the iconic house.

AJ Odudu and Will Best will be returning to steer the popular reality show, which was given a new lease of life by ITV last year. The official line-up for the 2025 series remains under wraps, but stars speculated to be joining include Patsy Palmer, Jack P Shepherd, Chris Hughes and Ella Rae Wise.

Over time, we've seen scores of celebrities make their way into the CBB house, but only 23 stars have emerged victorious.

Let's delve into where all of the winners of Celebrity Big Brother are now....

David Potts

Reality TV star David clinched the 2024 series of Celebrity Big Brother, winning over viewers with his lively personality and comical one-liners, reports OK!.

The 31 year old, who shot to fame on Ibiza Weekender, has since featured on other TV shows such as Pointless Celebrities after his CBB triumph. Last year, David unveiled his podcast, The David Potts Show.


He is among this year's Late and Live guests, alongside Oti Mabuse and Tiffany Pollard.

Ryan Thomas

Ryan, known for his role as Jason Grimshaw in Coronation Street, bagged the 22nd series of CBB in 2018.


Subsequently, he starred in his own reality series, Absolutely India: Mancs in Mumbai, with his brothers, Scott and Adam.

Ryan has since taken part in Celebrity MasterChef and even clinched the title of Dancing on Ice champion in 2024. Most recently, he's been seen presenting the new TV show 99 To Beat alongside his brother Adam.

Courtney Act

Courtney Act, whose real name is Shane Jenek, is a star from RuPaul's Drag Race who triumphed in the 21st series of Celebrity Big Brother.

The Aussie celeb went on to strut her stuff on Dancing with the Stars and even bagged a guest role on the Australian soap Neighbours. Courtney also graced screens on shows like Celebrity Mastermind, The Masked Singer Australia, and Celebrity Come Dine with Me.

Her other TV exploits include hosting ABC's Courtney Act's One Plus One, judging on ITV's Queen For The Night, and presenting the backstage coverage for SBS's Eurovision Song Contest 2024.


Sarah Harding

Sarah Harding, star of Girls Aloud, was crowned the winner of Celebrity Big Brother in 2017.

In 2020, she shared the heartbreaking news that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, and the following year, she revealed that the disease was terminal.


Also in 2021, Sarah published a memoir, Hear Me Out, chronicling her life and career. She also released her final single during the same year, with all profits going to charity.

Tragically, Sarah passed away due to complications from breast cancer on the morning of 5th September 2021, aged just 39.

Stephen Bear

Stephen Bear, who first found fame on TV shows like Ex on the Beach, won the eighteenth series of Celebrity Big Brother, which aired in 2016.

After his CBB victory, he made appearances on shows like Celebs Go Dating, Just Tattoo of Us and The Challenge.

In March 2023, he was imprisoned for sharing private sexual photos and videos of his ex-girlfriend with the intention to cause distress. He was granted early release from prison on 17th January 2024.


Scotty T

Geordie Shore's Scotty T clinched the Celebrity Big Brother title in 2016. That same year, he featured on Ex on the Beach and became the face of BoohooMAN.

Two years on, he was dropped from Geordie Shore. In 2020, Scotty joined OnlyFans and also works as a social media influencer.


James Hill

James first gained fame on The Apprentice in 2014, then went on to participate in Celebrity Big Brother in 2015 and emerged as the winner.

He has since appeared on ITV's Celebrity Dinner Date, E4's 5 Star Hotel, and Channel 4's Celebrity Coach Trip.


James is now a father to a daughter and son, and last year announced his engagement to girlfriend Naomi.

Katie Price

Former glamour model Katie claimed the Celebrity Big Brother crown in 2015 and has remained in the public eye ever since.


The mother-of-five has featured on TV shows such as Reality Bites, In Therapy, Katie Price's Pony Club, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and Celebrity MasterChef. Katie has also starred in several of her own shows, including Katie Price: Harvey and Me and Katie Price: My Crazy Life.

She co-hosts a podcast with her sister Sophie and released an autobiography last year.

Gary Busey

Gary emerged as the champion of CBB in 2014, marking him as the first American victor of the show.

In the subsequent year, he participated in Dancing With the Stars and secured the 10th position. The actor has also showcased his talent in the Off-Broadway musical Only Human and introduced the miniseries Gary Busey Pet Judge in 2020.

The father of three featured in the 2015 film Entourage.


Jim Davidson

Comedian Jim clinched the title of Celebrity Big Brother in 2013.

He launched streaming service UStreme during the Covid lockdowns when performing was not an option. The platform has now evolved into a full-fledged TV service offering both original programmes and classic shows and comedy sketches that are exclusive to it.


Jim currently holds the reins of editorial decisions and supervises programming along with his presenting duties.

Charlotte Crosby

A familiar face in the realm of reality TV, Charlotte bagged the Celebrity Big Brother title in 2013. She shot to fame on MTV's Geordie Shore, which she bid goodbye to in 2016.


Post her CBB victory, Charlotte has been juggling various projects, ranging from reality TV to fashion lines. She made appearances on Ex on the Beach, Celebs Go Dating and the Australian version of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

Charlotte published an autobiography in 2015 and in 2023, she headlined her own reality show, Charlotte in Sunderland, on BBC Three. She also had her own MTV reality show, The Charlotte Show.

Charlotte is a mother to two little girls, whom she shares with her future husband Jake Ankers.


Rylan Clark

Rylan Clark, who first gained fame on The X Factor, won Celebrity Big Brother in 2012 and has been a constant presence on our television screens. Post-CBB, his career soared, presenting Big Brother's Bit on the Side until its conclusion in 2018 and The Xtra Factor.

In 2016, Rylan landed his own show, Up Late with Rylan, and began hosting Supermarket Sweep in 2019 as well as the Strictly spin-off It Takes Two. He has also made numerous appearances as a guest presenter on This Morning.


Julian Clary

Julian Clary, actor and comedian, was declared the winner of CBB in 2012. Since then, he has achieved significant success as a children's author, publishing eight books since 2015.

He has also written four novels, the most recent one released in October 2024, and two autobiographies. Julian is no stranger to the theatre, having starred in numerous productions, including Jesus Christ Superstar and Robin Hood.


In 2024, it was announced that Julian would star in the BBC Radio 4 comedy series Tom and Lauren are Going OOT, playing the character Neil.

Denise Welch

Denise Welch, winner of the ninth series of Celebrity Big Brother, has enjoyed a successful television career. Known for her roles in Hollyoaks and Waterloo Road, she is perhaps best recognised as a panellist on the ITV daytime show Loose Women.


Beyond television, she portrayed the late Queen Elizabeth II in Diana: The Musical and starred in Calendar Girls: The Musical.

Denise is the mother to two children, one of whom is The 1975's lead singer Matty Healy.

Paddy Doherty

Paddy clinched the title of Celebrity Big Brother in 2011, having gained popularity on programmes like My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and Danny Dyer's Deadliest Men.

He later featured on shows such as This Morning and starred in a two-part Channel 5 documentary alongside fellow CBB star Sally Bercow, titled When Paddy Met Sally.

Paddy has also been seen in documentaries about traveller life, including Gypsy Kids: Our Secret World and The Truth About Traveller Crime.


Alex Reid

Alex triumphed in the seventh series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2010, which was the last series to be broadcast on Channel 4.

He was set to return to professional cage fighting later that year, but an injury put a stop to his plans. In 2011, he announced his retirement from MMA at a UCMMA 20 event in London.


After his divorce from Katie Price, Alex started dating fellow CBB housemate Chantelle Houghton. They have a daughter together, born in 2012.

Alex is now engaged and is also a father to a daughter, born in 2021, and twin boys, born in 2023.

Ulrika Jonsson

In 2009, Ulrika emerged victorious in Celebrity Big Brother despite being nominated for eviction by her housemates multiple times.

She later appeared on Piers Morgan's Life Stories after her time on CBB and it was then confirmed that she'd be making a comeback to Shooting Stars as a team captain that same year.

Ulrika has since been seen on programmes such as Celebrity MasterChef and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.


Shilpa Shetty

After winning the fifth series of Celebrity Big Brother, Shilpa Shetty was offered a role as the host of the Indian version of the show, Bigg Boss. She has since had a diverse TV career, featuring on numerous reality-competition shows such as Super Dancer, Indian Idol and Nach Baliye.

In 2021, Shilpa returned to acting, starring in Hungama 2 and more recently, Indian Police Force. She also endorses various brands and products, and has previously spoken out on issues like animal rights and feminism.


Chantelle Houghton

Chantelle Houghton, who appeared on the fourth series of Celebrity Big Brother, was ultimately crowned the winner of the series. She entered the house as a non-celebrity housemate as part of a task.

After her time on CBB, Chantelle married fellow housemate Samuel Preston but they split in 2007. She has since dated TV presenter Rav Wilding and former cage fighter Alex Reid, with whom she has a daughter.


Post-CBB, Chantelle's varied career has included releasing an autobiography, writing magazine columns, and appearing as a guest on shows like The Weakest Link and 8 Out of 10 Cats.

Bez

Bez, star of Happy Mondays, won Celebrity Big Brother in 2005. Following this, he featured on shows such as Adrenaline Junkie and Bargain Hut.


In 2012, Happy Mondays announced they were reforming. The band have headlined numerous festivals and events over the years.

Bez and bandmate Shaun Ryder have appeared together on many TV shows, including Celebrity Gogglebox.

In 2022, Bez tied the knot with his partner Firouzeh Razavi, with whom he has been in a relationship since 2014.


Mark Owen

Take That's Mark Owen emerged as the champion of the second series of Celebrity Big Brother (CBB), securing a whopping 77 per cent of the public vote and defeating Les Dennis in the final.

Post CBB, Mark made a triumphant return to music, kick-starting his solo career and even establishing his own record label. He released solo tracks in 2012 and 2022, while also contributing to Take That's discography.


He continues to enjoy global success with the band, which currently consists of Mark, Gary Barlow and Howard Donald, following the departures of Robbie Williams and Jason Orange.

Mark is happily married to actress Emma Ferguson, and they are proud parents to a son and two daughters.

Jack Dee

Comedian Jack Dee holds the distinction of being the first winner of Celebrity Big Brother.

Since then, he has enjoyed a flourishing TV career, participating in shows like Shooting Stars and Channel 4's Comedy Gala, and was a contestant on Taskmaster last year.

Jack co-wrote and starred in the sitcom Bad Move, and has showcased his acting skills in shows such as Power Monkeys and Josh.

He wedded Susan in 1986 and the couple have four children together.
