Minister of Home Affairs Léon Gloden offered a positive assessment of the special measures implemented on January 15th. However, there may still be some lingering issues that need addressing.

For Lydie Polfer, Mayor of Luxembourg City, the primary concerns revolve around drug controls:
"Whether that be at the Gare, in the Upper City, or even at other locations where drug dealing has spread. This is often linked to the various public transport stops, such as at Place de l'Étoile and its surroundings, where drug dealing has become frequent."

The mayor emphasised the importance of more consistent monitoring. One positive aspect that was welcomed is the increased police intervention to remove individuals from building entrances :

"Since January 15th alone, the police hve intervened in 197 cases. This is crucial and must continue."

The mayor expressed the hope that if over 90 new police officers are sworn in May, a significant number of them would be allocated to the city. However, Polfer also stressed the importance of engaging with all stakeholders to explore further solutions. In addition to working with the police, this would involve collaboration with the justice system and social institutions. The mayor acknowledged that while increased police presence is crucial, it alone would not be enough to effectively address various issues.
